When we first created Speech Stuff, it was a small service focused mainly on communication and speech development. At the time, that name fitted us well.
Over time, our understanding and scope have grown. Through listening to children, families, and our own clinical learning, our work has naturally expanded. We now support children using a broader, more integrated approach that includes sensory regulation, movement, and regulation‑based support alongside communication.
It became clear that our old name no longer reflected who we are or what families need from us.
Sensibus felt like the right next step.
It represents sensing, feeling, and understanding together - and that’s exactly how we work with children. As an autistic clinician myself, having a name that honours sensory experience and neurodiversity feels especially important and personal.
This change isn’t just about rebranding. It’s about aligning our name with our values:
- Seeing the whole child
- Using neuroaffirming, sensory‑informed approaches
- Following the child’s lead
- Supporting all types of communication
- Creating a safe, warm, welcoming space for every family
And one thing will never change:
Families remain at the heart of everything we do.
Your children are genuinely important to us.
Sensibus reflects who we are now - and the caring, thoughtful service we are continuing to grow. Thank you for being here with us.
