Our Team

Julie Cota
As an autistic Speech and Language Therapist, I have a deeply intuitive understanding of sensory needs, communication differences, and the lived experience of neurodivergence. I am dedicated to providing neurodiversity affirming support for children and their families.
My journey began at Newcastle University, where I pursued my studies in Speech and Language Therapy. Since becoming qualified in 2011, I’ve had the privilege of serving communities in both the North East and Yorkshire within the NHS and in education.
I firmly believe that effective communication is a cornerstone of daily life, and I am committed to ensuring that every child receives the necessary support to thrive. My areas of expertise include early language development, autism, Gestalt Language Development, speech sound difficulties, and selective mutism. In 2020 I completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Speech Sound Difficulties and in 2025 I qualified as a Sensory Integration (SI) Practitioner. I have recently completed the PG Diploma in SI (2026). As an Advanced Sensory Integration Practitioner, I bring a playful, neuroaffirming approach that celebrates every child’s unique communication style. I lead the service and support families through assessment, therapy, and sensory‑informed practice.

Rebecca Dennis
Rebecca joined the team in 2025 and has over 6 years of experience working in the NHS with children from birth to secondary school age.
Before working in the NHS she was a Primary school Teacher working with children in Nursery and Reception.
Rebecca has lots of experience supporting children’s early language development. She specialises in working with children with speech sound difficulties and stammering.
She is passionate about supporting children to become confident communicators through fun, play-based child-led sessions. Alongside this, she holds a Sensory Inclusion Facilitator certificate, which strengthens her ability to recognise sensory needs and adapt sessions, so children feel regulated and ready to engage. Her calm, friendly approach helps children feel relaxed, safe, and ready to play in therapy.

Beth
Beth is one of the first welcoming faces families meet. Alongside reception, she supports therapy sessions and brings her Sensory Inclusion Facilitator training into her work. She helps create calm, child‑friendly environments and is brilliant at helping children feel comfortable and regulated.

Maureen
Maureen is the organisational heart of Sensibus. She manages admin, bookings, and accounts with care and attention to detail. Families know her as the friendly, steady presence who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Toni
Toni joined the team in July 2022 just before we opened The Hive. Toni supports both reception and therapy sessions. She is warm, approachable, and excellent at helping children settle into the clinic space. Families value her gentle manner and practical support during sessions. She welcomes our families and supports us with resources and our Social Media.
